In the manufacturing process of cemented carbide, it is necessary to mix molding agents such as paraffin, rubber, PEG, etc. into powder mixture, especially in extrusion and injection moulding. The content of forming agents is relatively high. Degumming furnaces (also known as degreasing furnaces or dewaxing furnaces) are electric furnaces specially used for removing moulding agents. Independent degumming furnaces have been gradually reduced. However, some products need to be semi-processed before final sintering. The degreasing time of extrusion or injection moulding products with high content of large products or moulding is long, or in order to improve the utilization of pressure sintering furnaces, special pre-burning furnaces for dewaxing are still useful.
The dewaxing furnace for producing cemented carbide is intermittent. According to the structure, it can be divided into vertical type and horizontal type.
According to the way of degreasing, it can be divided into H2 degreasing, low-pressure carrier gas degreasing or vacuum degreasing. Hydrogen degumming preburner is widely used because of its high dewaxing efficiency and suitable for various forming agents.
Horizontal furnace adopts the structure of inner circle and outer circle. It uses heat-resistant stainless steel as round inner liner, square outer shell lined with alumina fiber insulation layer, and nickel-chromium resistance wire hangs on the outer side and bottom of inner liner. Usually, there are three zones in the horizontal direction. For large furnace or when the temperature uniformity is very high, nine zones (three zones in the horizontal direction of both sides and bottom) are also used. The front end of the bladder is single-opened, the thermocouple is inserted into the bladder from the back end, and the wax exhaust pipe is drawn out from the middle and lower part of the back end. When H2 degumming is used, H2 tape rubber vapor passes through the wax exhaust pipe to the wax collector, most of the glue is left in the tank, and the rest is ignited directly with H2. When using vacuum or low-pressure carrier gas dewaxing, it is necessary to collect more than 97% paraffin in high-efficiency wax collector to prevent the formation agent from damaging the vacuum pump, and also to use water-ring vacuum pump (which can extract all kinds of forming agents, but the vacuum degree is less than 4000Pa). In order to speed up the cooling speed, it is equipped with an external air cooler to blast the indoor air into the furnace gallbladder, and the hot air is discharged from the top exhaust pipe outdoors.
