Because carbon steel and stainless steel require different oxygen content and other elements in cooling water, water-cooled units can be divided into open and closed types.
The quality of cooling water will not only affect the process operation of the vacuum furnace, but also affect the life of the water-cooled components of the furnace. If the water quality is not ideal, it is likely to cause corrosion of metal parts and water leakage of equipment after the furnace is used for a period of time, which is a great potential safety hazard for high temperature vacuum furnace. Therefore, good water quality assurance will play a decisive role in the life and safety of vacuum furnaces.

General requirements for water quality of stainless steel materials:
In order to avoid (rust) damage, cooling water must meet the following requirements:
The filtered water is mechanically cleaned, visually clean and free of turbidity and sediment.
The inlet temperature is approximately equal to or higher than the ambient temperature (to avoid condensation).
Influent temperature: <30 C;
Oxygen content: > 4 mg/l;
Chloride content: < 50 mg / l;
Manganese content: <0,1 mg/l (intake water content);
The dissolved iron content was less than or equal to 0,5 mg/l.
The hardness of water is less than 4 dH, without chemical stability treatment, and after chemical stability treatment, it is less than 20 dH.
7.5 < PH < 9;
Conductivity: <1.500 S/cm;
When appropriate fungicides are needed, the community integration unit must be < 10.000 cfu/ml.
