How to improve the performance of water ring vacuum pump


In the water ring vacuum pump cavity, it is divided into low pressure cavity region and high pressure cavity region. If the position of the filling port is in the low pressure region, the external fluid supply can be realized by the self-priming mode of the pump itself, and the filling pressure is lower. If the high-pressure cavity filling, then the filling pressure must be greater than the pressure in the pump cavity in order to fill the pump cavity, otherwise the working fluid can not be timely supplemented, will cause gas from the compression chamber back to the suction chamber, affecting the performance of the water ring vacuum pump.


After many times of verification, it is found that the use of pump self-priming way to fill liquid, pump performance has been reduced, because the pump in the suction chamber to fill liquid or from the impeller end surface to fill liquid, working fluid has begun to work for a period of time (from the completion of the working fluid compressed gas as a starting point), that is, there is a certain loss of energy. Additionally, the fluid infusion will produce impact loss on the liquid ring, and reduce the effective work of the working fluid on the gas, consuming a part of the energy. If the filling fluid is placed in the 11-chamber position in Fig. 1, the filling fluid gets sufficient energy and participates in the next round of suction and exhaust process with little energy loss, so filling fluid in the high-pressure chamber position is beneficial to improve the performance of the vacuum pump.


But it is not that the higher the pressure is, the better. After verification, the pressure is generally reasonable at 1-1.5 bar. Otherwise, the pressure is too high, and the added liquid is too much, which makes the liquid occupy the space of the suction gas. Both the suction volume and the exhaust pressure of the vacuum pump will be reduced. At the same time, the liquid delivered by the pump will increase, so the shaft power. It increases, reduces pump efficiency, produces vibration and noise, and periodically discharges a large amount of water from the pump outlet.

Water ring vacuum pump advantages:

2, compact structure, high revolutions of the pump, usually connected directly to the motor without slowing down. Therefore, with a small structural size, large displacement can be achieved and the floor area is also small.


3. Compressed gas is basically isothermal (usually multivariate compression index n = 1.1-1.15), that is, the process of compressed gas, the temperature changes very little.


4. There is no metal friction surface in the cavity, no need to lubricate the pump, and the wear is very small, the clearance between the rotating parts and the fixed parts can be sealed by liquid.
