Water Ring Vacuum Pump in Pneumatic Conveying System
In the vacuum pneumatic conveying system, vacuum pump should be used to maintain a certain degree of vacuum in the pipeline. Vacuum pumps are often used for pumping and filling water in large pumping devices with suction-lift suction pipes. The common vacuum pump is water ring vacuum pump.
The water ring vacuum pump is actually a co mpressor, which extracts the gas from the container and pressurizes it to higher than the atmospheric pressure, thus overcoming the exhaust resistance and discharging the gas into the atmosphere.
The impeller of 12 blades of water ring vacuum pump is eccentrically installed in the cylindrical pump shell. A certain amount of water is injected into the pump. When the impeller rotates, the water is thrown to the pump shell to form a water ring. The inner surface of the ring is resolutely tangent to the impeller wheel. Because the pump shell and impeller are not centrifugal, the intake space between the right half wheel and the water ring gradually expands, thus forming a vacuum, so that the gas enters the intake space of the pump through the intake pipe. Then the gas enters the left half of the human body. As the volume between the rings is gradually compressed and the pressure is increased, the gas is discharged out of the pump through the exhaust space and the exhaust pipe.
Vacuum pumps should constantly replenish water to ensure the formation of water rings and take away heat caused by friction.
