Vacuum pump vacuum degasser

The degasser uses a special self-filling centrifugal pump to pump mud out of the vacuum chamber. Like other vacuum degassers, slurry flows rapidly, and natural gas and air sweep into the outlet to form large bubbles. In this case, the general centrifugal pump used in drilling rigs will have air lock and can not operate, and we require that the pump must be able to pump mud or gas when necessary, so the pump is equipped with two small tanks at the inlet and outlet. The tank is filled with enough slurry to fill the pump. When the centrifugal pump slowly pumps the gas through the impeller, so that the gas is discharged at the same time, it also completes the filling work. When the gas is discharged, the pump resumes its normal discharge.


Vacuum pumps are used to extract natural gas, air and steam from degasser tanks. However, if water or mud flows into the vacuum pump, the pump will be destroyed. Therefore, a dehydrator (composed of a safety float valve) is installed on the pipeline between the degassing tank and the vacuum pump to collect condensate steam or slurry (when the float ball and the air valve allow the slurry to overflow in the tank).


There are two main reasons for using vacuum pump in degasser. One is to suck the air-immersed mud in mud tank to the top of degasser to form a thin layer flow on baffle, cone or funnel. The other is to exhaust the gas released from degasser tank and the air entered. Vacuum pumps also generate a pressure to discharge gas through a slender waste gas pipeline.


Centrifugal and vacuum pumps are driven by a motor or diesel engine that cuts horsepower. The pump efficiency of self-irrigation centrifugal pump is higher than that of centrifugal pump and jet pump or jet pump, so it consumes less power. The motor power limits the maximum discharge and mud density that can be treated.
