The types of vacuum pumps are widely classified. The main vacuum pumps used in the salt industry are: water ring vacuum pumps, roots vacuum pumps, reciprocating vacuum pumps and steam jet vacuum pumps. Its main features are:
(1) water ring type vacuum pump -- this pump can be used independently and can extract water vapor or corrosive gas. However, in the salt industry, the capacity of non-condensable gas is limited, and when the amount of gas is insufficient, the vacuum effect is general.
(2) roots vacuum pump -- this kind of pump is not used alone. It is often used in series with water ring vacuum pump as a vacuum unit.
(3) reciprocating vacuum pump -- the biggest disadvantage is that there are more vulnerable parts, the piston ring is easy to be damaged and the sealing is poor;
(4) steam jet vacuum pump -- generally adopted by salt manufacturers, the vacuum effect is good and stable, with few maintenance, but the effect of foreign steam jet pumps is better than that of domestic ones.
