Sintering magnesium brick in high temperature box furnace application
Magnesium oxide content of magnesia brick is more than 90%, and the basic refractory with periclase as the main crystalline phase.
Generally, it can be divided into sintered magnesia brick (also known as fired magnesia brick) and chemically bonded magnesia brick (also known as unburned magnesia brick). Magnesium bricks with high purity and firing temperature are called direct bonded magnesia bricks because of the direct contact of periclase grains; bricks made from electrofused magnesia are called electrofused and recombined magnesia bricks.
Magnesium bricks have high refractoriness, good alkaline slag resistance, high load softening temperature, but poor thermal shock resistance. Sintered magnesia bricks are made from brick-making magnesia bricks. After crushing, proportioning, mixing and moulding, they are fired at 1550-1600 C. The firing temperature of high purity products is above 1750 C. Non-cast magnesia brick is made by mixing, shaping and drying magnesia with appropriate chemical binder.
Mainly used for basic open hearth, bottom and wall of electric furnace, permanent lining of oxygen converter, non-ferrous metal smelting furnace, high temperature tunnel kiln, lining of calcined magnesia brick and cement rotary kiln, hearth and wall of heating furnace, grid brick of regenerator of glass kiln, etc.
The fired magnesia brick for high temperature box furnace is made of high purity magnesia. The higher the content of MgO, the higher the sintering temperature, the higher the direct bonding degree of periclase crystals in the products, and the better the high temperature performance and corrosion resistance. The product of fused magnesia brick made from fused magnesia has high density and large crystalline size of periclase. Its high temperature volume stability, high temperature strength and slag resistance are better. Magnesium brick is widely used in lining of high temperature furnace, electric kiln, glass kiln, ferroalloy furnace, mixing furnace, non-ferrous metal smelting furnace and so on.
Box furnace has the advantages of fast heating, energy saving, simple operation, programmable microcomputer control, automatic heating and cooling, high temperature control accuracy and constant temperature precision, and close to room temperature.
