Selection of medical vacuum pump
The function of the vacuum pump is to extract gas molecules from the vacuum chamber, reduce the pressure of the gas in the vacuum chamber, so as to achieve the required vacuum. Generally speaking, there is a large range from the atmosphere to the very high vacuum, and so far no vacuum system can cover this range. Therefore, in order to meet the technical specifications of different products, work efficiency and equipment life requirements, different vacuum sections need to choose different vacuum system configuration.
Medical vacuum system is an important part of hospital design and construction. Its main application principle is negative pressure suction. In the construction of medical vacuum pump system, the selection of medical vacuum pump is different from the general selection of industrial vacuum pump. These differences mainly involve three aspects.
Matters needing attention in selection of medical vacuum pumps:
1. First of all, the vacuum degree in industrial production and application is often higher, while the vacuum degree of medical vacuum is relatively low. The vacuum involved in industrial production is more widely used and has a large span, and the vacuum degree of many vacuum applications is often less than 1 hPa under the absolute pressure; while the medical vacuum is mainly attracted by negative pressure, which generally does not require excessive vacuum, and the absolute pressure is mostly between 13 kPa and 60 kPa, much lower than the industrial vacuum pump. Therefore, the selection of medical vacuum pumps should be distinguished.
2. the continuity of vacuum chamber is different. Vacuum chambers used in industrial vacuum applications are often intermittent, which means that the operation of vacuum pumps is mostly intermittent; while medical vacuum systems are continuous use, and different gas points are used at the same time.
3. the purpose of vacuum is different. Most of the industrial vacuum pumps are used to extract the gas from the vacuum chamber and make the vacuum environment for production; while the medical vacuum mentioned above is mostly used for negative pressure suction, mainly to extract various liquids (of course, also used to extract anesthetic waste gas and other purposes); therefore, in the selection of medical vacuum pumps, the main concern is in the design. How much volume flow can the vacuum pump provide and how much liquid can be sucked out per unit time are also different from the selection of industrial vacuum pumps.
