Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump and Liquid Ring Compressor Working Principle

The working principle of the liquid ring vacuum pump and the liquid ring compressor are exactly the same, and the basic types and structures are roughly the same, but there are also different places. 1. The circumferential velocity range of impeller is different.


The circumferential velocity of the impeller is mainly determined by the pressure difference between the suction chamber and the compression chamber. Because the suction pressure of the compressor is generally atmospheric pressure, and the exhaust pressure of the vacuum pump is generally atmospheric pressure, the pressure difference of the compressor is large, and the circumferential speed required is also large. The performance of the same liquid ring vacuum pump is different when it is used as a vacuum pump and as a compressor. If the vacuum pump is used as a compressor, only by increasing the rotational speed accordingly can it work economically.


2. The range of optimal compression ratio is different


The so-called optimal compression ratio is the compression ratio at higher efficiency. Generally speaking, the optimal compression ratio of vacuum pump is higher than that of compressor.


3. Shaft power is different


The effective power of the same size liquid ring vacuum pump is larger than that of the vacuum pump when it is used as a compressor, and the circumferential speed of the impeller is generally selected according to the requirements of the vacuum pump at present. Thus, when it is used as a compressor, it is in the low efficiency zone and the required shaft power is larger. Therefore, the power of the compressor is larger than that of the vacuum pump.


4. Different structures of gas-water separators


The air-water separator of vacuum pump is flat-top, the overflow pipe is ordinary water pipe, and the top of the air-water separator of compressor is spherical. The overflow pipe of vacuum pump is controlled by a float regulating valve, so as to prevent the compressed gas from escaping when the water level is below the overflow pipe, and reduce the gas pressure and effective gas quantity.


5. Different sizes of exhaust holes


At the same size, the exhaust hole of the compressor is smaller than that of the vacuum pump.

Whether the same water ring pump is used as a vacuum pump or as a compressor, it is equipped with the motor of the same speed, and the size of the exhaust port does not change.
