Single screw pump equipment structure：

Single Screw Pump Common Faults：
When a single screw pump pumps some oil from wells, it often encounters faults: rod breakage, pump leakage, stator swelling, stator degumming, pipe leakage, etc.
A. Broken rod
Due to excessive load, abrasion or misoperation of single screw pump sucker rod, the situation of sucker rod breakage, release or buckle is caused. The specific manifestations are: in a short period of time, the pump efficiency decreases greatly, the hydrodynamic level rises rapidly, and the current drops even close to the no-load current. Torque and axial force are still smooth and straight lines, but due to the lack of working torque of downhole pump, the value of bare rod torque is far less than the normal working range, and the axial force of hydraulic force on the rotor is also less than the normal range. According to the breaking position, the axial force produced by the self-weight of the rod column is different, and the breaking depth of the rod column can be calculated accordingly.
B. Leakage of pumps
Because of the wear and tear of stator rubber of single screw pump, the interference between stator and rotor decreases, and the pressure bearing capacity of pump decreases. Therefore, the amount of leakage increases. Specific performance is: the pump efficiency gradually decreased, the hydrodynamic level gradually increased, and the current gradually decreased. As the leakage increases, the active torque of the pump decreases, and the torque is lower than the normal range. As the axial force produced by hydraulic pressure decreases, the axial force is lower than the normal range, but still larger than the weight of rod and column in the produced fluid.
C. Stator swelling
Because of the effect of produced fluid. The swelling of stator rubber of single screw pump results in the increase of interference between stator and rotor, the normal pump efficiency and hydrodynamic level, and the increase of current. Because of the large interference, the initial torque of stator and rotor increases. Therefore, the smooth rod torque increases, which exceeds the normal range. In serious cases, the stator and rotor will lock up, but the axial force is normal.
D. Stator Degumming
Stator degumming is caused by insufficient bonding strength of the stator. The manifestation is that the pump efficiency drops sharply, the hydrodynamic level rises, the current drops and fluctuates. When degumming, the active torque of the pump is zero, and the smooth rod torque decreases greatly. In addition, irregular friction occurs between stator and rotor after degumming. Irregular hydraulic force will occur in the bare rod torque. The axial force produced by hydraulic pressure is zero, so the axial force of bare rod is lower than the normal range, but still higher than the weight of rod column in the produced liquid.
E. Tube leakage
Pipe leakage is caused by cracks in the wall of the tubing. The phenomenon is that the pump efficiency decreases, the hydrodynamic level rises and the current decreases. As the working pressure difference of the single screw pump decreases, the active torque of the pump decreases, the bare rod torque is lower than the normal range, the axial force produced by hydraulic pressure decreases, and the bare rod axial force is slightly lower than the normal range, but still higher than the weight of the bars in the liquid.
This is the fault type that single screw pumps often encounter in pumping wells. We must pay attention to it when using it.
