Mid-open pump (mid-open cycle) is also called single-stage double-suction centrifugal pump. Its primary characteristic is that the flow of medium is large, and the operation principle of mid-open pump is that the impeller device is in the pump housing and is fastened on the pump shaft, and the pump shaft is directly driven by the motor. A liquid suction pipe is connected with the suction pipe in the center of the pump housing. The liquid enters the pump through bottom valve and suction pipe. The liquid outlet on the pump housing is connected with the discharge pipe. When the pump rotates at a constant speed, its pressure head and flow rate are related to the impeller diameter.

The suction inlet and outlet of the pump are both below the axis line of the pump. The horizontal direction and the axis are straight and the pump shell is opened in the middle. There is no need to dismantle the water intake during the maintenance. The discharge pipeline and motor (or other prime mover) can be seen from the coupling to the pump. The pump rotates in the direction of the counter-inch needle. If according to the special order requirements of the users, it can also be changed into an inch needle rotation.
The main parts of the pump are pump body, pump cover, impeller, shaft, double suction sealing ring, bushing, bearing, etc. Except for high quality carbon steel, the rest are made of cast iron.
The pump body and the pump cover constitute the working room of the impeller, and the pipe screw holes of the vacuum meter and pressure gauge are made on the inlet and outlet flanges, and the pipe screw holes of the outlet and inlet flanges are made on the lower part of the inlet and outlet flanges.
The impeller is checked by static balance and fixed by sleeve and sleeve nuts on both sides. Its axial orientation can be adjusted by sleeve nuts. The axial force of the impeller is balanced by symmetrical placement of its blades. Some remaining axial forces are accepted by the coaxial bearing.
The pump shaft is supported by two single row centripetal ball bearings. The bearings are installed in the bearing body at both ends of the pump body. They are smooth with butter and double suction sealing rings are used to reduce the leakage of water in the pump chamber and return to the suction chamber.
The pump is directly driven by a motor through a coupling. The shaft seal is a soft packing seal. In order to cool the smooth sealing chamber and avoid air leaking into the pump, there is a water seal ring between the fillers. When the pump works, a small amount of high-pressure water flows into the packing chamber through the water seal pipe to achieve water seal effect.
